Privacy Policy
Note: This is a reference translation. The Japanese version is the authoritative text, and in the event of any discrepancy in wording or interpretation, the Japanese version shall prevail.
Kagami, Inc. (“we” or “us”) sets out below how we handle personal information in connection with “Dopalock,” our iOS app (“the App”). The App handles only a minimal amount of personal information. We aim to keep this policy clear and easy to read so that everyone can use the App with peace of mind.
Information We Collect and How We Use It
We collect the following information to the extent necessary to provide the App.
- Email address: Provided by Apple when you sign in with Apple (often an Apple private relay address). Used to create your account, verify your identity, and reply to your inquiries.
- Account identifier: An anonymous identifier issued by the App. Used to manage your account.
- Usage and activity records: Such as focus timers, keys, unlocks, streaks, settings, and time zone. Used to provide and improve the App’s features.
- Onboarding responses: Such as your preferred time of day, habits, age group, mood, and how you found the App. Used to optimize your experience.
- Inquiry details: The message text, an optional reply email address you provide, device and OS information, and language settings. Used to respond to your inquiries.
- Subscription status: The status of your subscription obtained through Apple and RevenueCat. Used to provide your plan (we do not retain payment methods such as credit card numbers).
- Diagnostic and operational information: Records of errors and app behavior. Used to maintain and improve quality.
Any lock targets you select using Screen Time features (such as FamilyControls) are handled only on your device and are never sent to our servers.
Changes to Purposes of Use
If we change our purposes of use, we will do so only within a scope reasonably deemed to be related to the purposes before the change, and we will notify you of the changed purposes or announce them within the App or by other means.
Provision to Third Parties
Except as required by law, we do not provide personal information to third parties without your consent.
Use of External Services
To the extent necessary to provide the App, we may use external service providers for purposes such as cloud hosting, data storage, authentication, managing subscription status, analytics, error monitoring, and inquiry management (including entrusting the handling of personal data to them). We exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over such providers.
Some of these external providers may be located outside Japan. Before entrusting data to them, we confirm that such providers have established systems conforming to the standards prescribed by Japanese regulations, and we continue to ensure appropriate handling after provision. If you contact us, we will, to the extent possible, provide information on the names of the countries where such providers are located, the personal information protection systems of those countries, and the protective measures taken by the providers.
Account Deletion and Data Handling
- You can delete your account, after a confirmation step, from “Settings > Account” in the App. When you delete your account, we will delete account-related data we hold, except for records that we need to retain for legal or operational reasons.
- We may retain, to the extent necessary, records related to inquiry handling, support records held by external services, billing and subscription records, and records needed for legal compliance, fraud prevention, accounting, or dispute handling.
- Deleting your account and canceling your subscription are separate procedures. Subscription cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple, so please proceed through your Apple settings.
Requests for Disclosure, Suspension of Use, and Other Rights
You may request the disclosure, correction, suspension of use, deletion, or suspension of provision to third parties of your retained personal data.
- When you make a request for disclosure or similar, we will verify your identity. There may also be cases where we are unable to comply due to applicable law.
- You may request the suspension of use, deletion, or suspension of provision to third parties where there are grounds prescribed by law (for example, where we are handling the data beyond the scope of the purpose of use, where it was acquired by improper means, where we no longer need to use the data, where a data breach or similar incident has occurred, or where there is otherwise a risk that your rights or legitimate interests will be harmed). Where we find a request to be justified, we will respond without delay to the extent necessary (where compliance is difficult, such as where it would require substantial cost, we may take alternative measures to protect your rights and interests).
To make a request, please contact us at the address below. As noted above, you can also delete your account or data from within the App.
Use by Children
The App is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you are a minor, please use the App with the consent of a parent or guardian.

Changes to This Policy

Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This policy is governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance over any disputes arising in connection with this policy.
